In July of 2025, the gentlemen of Kublai Kai decided they were in need of another adventure to soak in the sights, sounds and tastes of another country and culture. Spain, that lucky devil of a country, was voted the winner.

In typical Kublai Kai fashion, they had an end and a beginning, but whatever happened in the middle was up to the will of the vagabond gods. It led to an epic road trip across España that included a frenetically amazing twenty-four hours in Madrid, world-famous wineries, a culinary adventure in San Sebastián, pintxo hopping, exploring countryside towns, tracing Hemingway’s footsteps in France, a surprise bull run festival and ended as it began with a final electric night in Madrid.

New friends and old acquaintances were found along the way as Kublai Kai continued to spread its message of cultural understanding and learning through the sharing of stories, food, drink and adventure. Spain was a magnificent host who equally surprised, challenged and delighted the gents in ways they didn’t even expect.

If you take one thing away, its the the best laid plan is sometimes no plan at all. Throw yourself out into the world and see what happens.
